BJP has 25 full ministers in Modi’s new cabinet, 5 of partners

Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of India for the third time in a row but this time he has to form a coalition government. His new cabinet of 72 members has 30 full ministers. There are 36 Ministers of State and five Ministers of State with independent responsibility (there will be no minister in those ministries).

Modi has selected 25 of the 30 full ministers from his own party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Five people were taken from among the alliance partners.

30 full ministers sworn in as Modi’s cabinet

Rajnath Singh: This BJP leader served as Union Defense Minister in Modi’s previous cabinet.

Amit Shah: The Union Home Minister in Modi’s previous cabinet is also in the new government.

Nitin Gadkari: Nitin Gadkari, who served as the Union Minister of Roads and Transport, has again got a place in the cabinet of the NDA coalition government of India.

JP Nadda: At the national level, BJP president JP Nadda has been appointed as a full-fledged minister in Modi’s cabinet.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan: This former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh is now full minister in Modi’s cabinet.

Nirmala Sitharaman: Rajya Sabha member Nirmala Sitharaman served as Union Finance Minister in the previous government. Sitharaman is one of the two women who have got a place as a full minister in the Union Cabinet this time. He was inducted into the cabinet for the third time.

S Jaishankar: S Jaishankar, the foreign minister of Modi’s previous government, got a place in the cabinet this time too.

Manohar Lal Khattar: Manohar Lal Khattar, who stepped down as Chief Minister of Haryana last March, has been inducted into the new cabinet.

Piyush Goyal: Piyush Goyal, who was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha for the first time after defeating the Congress candidate, made it to the Union Cabinet for the first time.

Dharmendra Pradhan: The Union Minister of the previous government has taken oath as the Union Minister this time too.

Sarbananda Sonowal : This BJP leader from Assam has become a Union Minister.

Virendra Kumar: This BJP leader has been inducted into Modi’s Union Cabinet for the third time.

Jual Oram: This BJP leader took oath as a minister of Modi government.

Prahlad Joshi: This BJP leader took oath as Union Minister.

Ashwini Vishnu: This BJP leader, who was earlier in charge of the Railway Ministry, has also taken oath as the Union Minister this time.

Giriraj Singh: BJP leader Giriraj Singh sworn in as Union Minister.

Jyotiraditya Scindia: The senior BJP leader who won the Lok Sabha elections for the fifth time also got full ministerial status in Modi’s coalition government.

Bhupendra Yadav: Bhupendra Yadav was in charge of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry in Modi’s last cabinet. This time too he took oath as the Union Minister of Modi’s new cabinet.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat: This BJP leader has been elected for the third term from Jodhpur Lok Sabha seat. He took oath as Union Minister.

Annapurna Devi : BJP leader Annapurna Devi took oath as Union Minister of Accounts.

Kiren Rijiju: Since the BJP came to power in 2014, Kiren Rijiju, who has served as an important minister in Narendra Modi’s cabinet, is again a Union minister.

Mansukh Mandaviya: This BJP leader, who served as Health and Family Welfare Minister in the previous government, took oath as Union Minister.

Hardeep Singh Puri: Hardeep Singh Puri, a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, has been sworn in as a Union Minister since 2018.

GK Reddy: GK Reddy also got a place in the new cabinet.

CR Patil: Took oath as Union Minister on Sunday.

Among the partners who are full ministers

HD Kumaraswamy: Karnataka regional Janata Dal (Secular) chief and NDA alliance partner HD Kumaraswamy has been sworn in as a Union minister in Modi’s cabinet.

Jitan Ram Manji: The founder of Hindustani Aam Morcha (Secular) has taken oath as Union Minister.

Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh: Leader of Nitish Kumar’s party JD-U, Rajiv was sworn in as Union Minister.

Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader also got a berth in the Union Cabinet as an alliance partner.

Chirag Paswan: NDA alliance partner Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Bilash (LJP-RV) leader Chirag got a place in the new cabinet.
