RAB-13 has arrested Md. Mominur Rahman (28), the fugitive main accused in the case of raping an eight-year-old child by tempting her with chocolate at Dimla in Nilphamari.
He was arrested at Syedpur Airport area at 11:00 on Sunday (June 9).
RAB-13 Assistant Director (Media) Mahmud Bashir Ahmed confirmed the arrest through a press release.
The arrested son of Ataur Rahman of Masterpara area of Tepakhribari union of Mominur Rahman upazila.In the notification, he said, around 12 noon on Friday (May 17), the Chairman of Ward No. 8 of Tepakhribari Union, Mominur Rahman of Masterpara village called a local eight-year-old child to the bedroom with the lure of feeding him chocolate. Shayan sexually assaulted her as there was no one at home. Child is bleeding profusely due to sexual abuse. Later, the child returned home in critical condition and told the whole incident to his mother. The child was first admitted to Dimla Upazila Health Complex, where the condition worsened, the doctor referred him to Nilphamari Modern Hospital for better treatment. The child was under treatment there for a long time.
He also said that the accused was absconding soon after the incident. Later, based on secret information, an expeditionary team of RAB-13 CPC-2 and RAB-4 Battalion Sadar conducted a raid and arrested Md. Mominur Rahman, a fugitive accused in the Suppression of Women and Children Act case, from Syedpur Airport area of Nilphamari at 11:00 am.
After the arrest, the RAB official said in the notification that he admitted the truth of the incident during the initial interrogation.
