A case has been registered in the case of an 11-year-old child being raped and six months pregnant in Dashmina of Patuakhali.
A case was filed in the Patuakhali Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal against accused Sijan Mridha and her parents. Accused Sijan Mridha is the son of Nazrul Mridha of East Alipur village of Alipur Union of Dasmina upazila. The court took cognizance of the case on Saturday (June 1) and ordered Dashmina police to register it.
According to the source of the case, on November 15, 2023, Sijan Mridha forcibly picked up the child on the roof of the Union Parishad and raped her on the way home. After that, he threatened to kill me if I told anyone about the rape. After that, he was threatened and raped several times. The girl became pregnant.
The victim’s family did not get any remedy even after hearing about the physical change from the accused Sijan’s family. Didn’t get any remedy, but because Sizan’s family is influential, instead asked his family to leave the area with the child.
Later, the victim’s mother filed a case in the Patuakhali Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal on May 26 as a plaintiff.
Nurul Islam Majumder, officers in charge of Dasmina police station, said, ‘No one has given us any complaint in this matter. However, a case has been filed in the Patuakhali Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal. Dashmina police will provide all necessary legal assistance to the child’s family.
