Opposition Leader and Jatiya Party Chairman Ghulam Mohammad (GM) Quader extended greetings and love to the countrymen on the occasion of Happy Buddha Purnima. He congratulated all the Buddhists of the world including Bangladesh on this occasion.
In his congratulatory message, Jatiya Party Chairman said, Happy Buddha Purnima is very significant to Buddhists all over the world. Because, the tradition of Mahamati Gautama Buddha’s birth, Buddhahood and Mahaprayana is intertwined on this day. Buddha Purnima is very sacred and revered by them.
According to Buddhism, Gautama Buddha preached the eternal message of ‘Ahimsa Param Dharma’ to establish a peaceful world. Ignoring fear, greed and lust, Mahamati Gautama Buddha preached the message of non-violence, friendship and compassion to establish peace for the welfare of people. Creating a welfare society through peace and harmony was Gautama Buddha’s unique endeavor.
In his congratulatory message, Golam Mohammad Quader paid his respects to the late President of Bangladesh and founding chairman of Jatiya Party, Pallibandhu Hussain Muhammad Ershad.
He said, Pallibandhu Hussain Muhammad Ershad has formed ‘Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust’ for the welfare of the Buddhist community of the country.
Thus he created a unique example in the history of Bangladesh by creating equal opportunity in the conduct of all religions.
