Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen, daughter of Jhenaidah-4 (Kaliganj) Member of Parliament Anarul Azim Anar said, ‘I want a piece of my father’s dead body. A piece of meat that I can touch. I want to perform the funeral for that piece of meat.’
He said these things in the human chain held on Friday (May 24) around 5 pm in the bus stand area of the city to demand a fair trial for the brutal killing of MP Anar, the arrest of the mastermind of the murder and exemplary punishment.
MP’s daughter said, Prime Minister understands the pain of losing a father, he will understand the pain of losing my father. Judged for his father’s murder, my father will also be tried for murder. It must be judged.
He also said, ‘I have spoken to the Prime Minister. I also spoke yesterday. We will take legal recourse. Hon’ble Prime Minister is there, the highest guardians of Awami League are there, they will advise us and they will definitely provide maximum punishment for killing their party MP.
Jhenaidah-Jesore highway will be closed for traffic for half an hour during the human cordon.
Municipal Mayor Ashraful Alam Ashraf presided over the human chain. Newly elected Upazila Parishad Chairman Shibli Noman, Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Matiar Rahman Moti, Upazila Jubo League General Secretary Sohel Hossain and all the leaders and workers of Awami League were present.
