Prominent educationists of the country have claimed that there is no alternative to Islamic education to save the young generation from modern ignorance.

They said that there is a domestic and foreign conspiracy to exclude the education of Islam from the current education system. Their aim is to break the family system of Muslims in this country. To make the young generation without morals and talent. The current education system is making our new generation secular. The current secular education system is exposing the new generation to various addictions including drugs and sex. There is no substitute for Islamic education to save the young generation from modern ignorance. The themes of Islamic education are universal brotherhood, morality, human values, human welfare, sacrifice and modesty. The purpose of Islamic education is to create a young generation with human values to protect peace, order and stability in the society. Therefore, the educational curriculum of Muslims should have elements that will make the student successful in this world and the hereafter and will be useful for playing an important role in the development of society.

On Saturday (May 25) at the National Press Club’s Akram Khan Hall, the speakers said these things at a seminar on the past and recent changes in the educational system-expectations of the nation, organized by the Education Research Council, Dhaka.

Former vice chancellor of Manarat International University and ex-chairman of BCSIR Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Mahmud Hasan. The former vice chancellor of Bangladesh Islamic University, Professor Dr. spoke as the main speaker. M. Korban Ali. Prof. ABM Fazlul Karim presented the main article.

Former professor of Dhaka University ATM Fazlul Haque, President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Ruhul Amin Ghazi, President of Dhaka Journalists Union (DUJ) Shahidul Islam and General Secretary Khurshid Alam, Professor Dr. Sajjadur Rahman, Bangladesh Adarsh College Teachers Council Vice President Principal Dr. Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan and others.

Professor Dr. Chowdhury Mahmud Hasan said, due to the lack of Islamic education, the Muslim nation is upset and trampled all over the world today. Therefore, to regain the lost tradition, it is necessary to introduce the educational system in the light of moral and religious values. Farewell Hajj speech is left out in textbooks but the best speech in the world is Farewell Hajj speech. Today, Muslims are being massacred in Palestine. Humanity today sees the massacre of barbaric Jews in question. He recited the poem Umar Farooq by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and lamented that this poem has been omitted from the textbooks of Muslims in this country.

He also said that 90 percent of the country’s citizens are Muslims. It is very important to make Islamic education compulsory at all levels from nursery. Because no human is capable of attaining his true identity without learning His knowledge.

He said that the family system of Muslims is being destroyed by destroying the education system. Muslims have contributed to science, but not weapons and atomic bombs. Muslims ruled with justice and fairness. The new generation should be oriented towards Islamic education to save them from modern ignorance.

Professor Dr. M. Korban Ali said, Islam is a reasonable, practical and complete way of life. The rules of every aspect of human life are very well described in Islam. But in this country, 90 percent of Muslim children are unable to receive Islamic education. Domestic and foreign conspiracies are going on against the education system and education policy of Bangladesh. They have taken a stand against the Islamic education system. The plot of the conspirators must be thwarted. Islamic education system should be introduced at all levels of education.

Prof. ABM Fazlul Karim while presenting the article said, “We have to be afraid to see the evils of the current education system today. There is a big lack of ethics in the country today. As a result, the people are faced with such a state of fear and helplessness that cannot be expressed in words. All serious crimes like bribery, corruption, extortion, rape, black market have now become a daily thing. Almost all levels of employees are corrupt, starting from the big boss of the office to the boy-bearer. Brutal and shocking news like rape of wife in front of her husband, rape of daughter sitting for her father’s body, rape and murder of disabled children are constantly being published in the media. We all have to helplessly observe this disaster of morality nationally.’

He said, if you think with a neutral mind about the way out of this disaster, everyone will admit that religious education teaches people morality. And morality keeps people away from crime. By learning the principles of Islam, students can develop into honest and devoted citizens with good character.

In the president’s speech, Alamgir Mohiuddin said, Muslims are not united today. We must remain united and be in the way of Allah. In many countries, including Malaysia and Iran, Islamic education is compulsory for all Muslim students up to the higher secondary graduation level. In our country, there is a demand to make Islamic education compulsory from nursery to higher secondary level. The only way to build a nation rich in moral qualities to establish world peace for humanity is to follow the path directed by the almighty creator. Allah says in the Holy Quran, “Surely Islam is the only way of life acceptable to Allah.”

Other speakers in the seminar said that the best time to impart ideal education is during school-college education. Because today’s students are tomorrow’s policy makers. Therefore, the main and only condition of becoming a complete ideal human being is to always seek knowledge with the aim of acquiring moral and values knowledge and becoming rich in knowledge. Presenting oneself accordingly and attaining the glory of the highest sacrifice. But according to the current curriculum, even though Islamic education is a subject at the secondary and higher secondary levels, public examination is not being conducted on that subject. As a result, students are not paying attention to studying Islamic education. In fact, even if they read the subject of Islamic education, they are losing enthusiasm for real Islamic knowledge. Moreover, the students of science and business education department are being denied the right to gain knowledge about Islam.
