Staff Reporter: Mahmudur Rahman, Editor of Dainik Amar Desh said, ‘I will fight till death for the people from the ranks of the people. He said that although the fascist Sheikh Hasina has left the country, her allies are still around the interim government. Still we want to support this government. He said these things in an exchange meeting with journalists at the premises of the National Press Club on Sunday. He demanded the Interim Government to declare Chhatra League as a ‘terrorist organization’ and ban it within the next 7 days. Along with this demand, he made a total of seven demands to the present government.

Mahmudur Rahman, the victim of dictatorship for a long time, returned home and surrendered to the court and was imprisoned. After being released on bail from the court, he held an exchange meeting with the journalists for the first time. Mahmudur Rahman said to the government in the discussion meeting that after the revolution of the students, I did not think that the talk against the demon Hasina would subside so quickly. Back home, I see that there is more discussion about the pros and cons of the interim government than the tyranny of the fascist and monster Hasina. This is the proof of Bengali’s lack of memory. He said, you say that you want to see a government free from fascism. De-fascist the media first if you dare. He said, youth, students led the mass revolution. But when my country first called Sheikh Hasina a fascist, they were minors. The slogan of my country newspaper was – ‘Swadithanar Kechat’. It’s a message. This message was understood by Sheikh Hasina and Indian friends. Indian hegemony has been controlling the media in Bangladesh for the past 53 years. Editors and media owners say they are all agents of India.

He said, I was the first to write, ‘Fascism footsteps in Shahbagh’. What I wrote that day against the sentiments of the whole country, is proved today. Then I wrote, ‘Government’s journey towards fascism’. When I didn’t know the difference between dictatorship and fascism, I wrote ‘Nabrupe Bakshal’, before Awami League came to power. Only Amar Desh Patrika understood the character of Indian hegemony and Sheikh Hasina’s fascism. He also said, when the judiciary became a shameless broker of Awami League, we wrote, ‘a joke in the name of independent judiciary’. Aliullah Noman (journalist of Amar Desh) then reported, ‘State in favor of government in the name of chamber’. Both have gone to jail for this. But it has been proved today, to what extent the Judiciary was actually awamizied. “In the history of media, in the history of investigative journalism, the Skype scandal was revealed… unfortunately, we didn’t acknowledge it,” said the editor of Amar Desh Patrika. Instead I had to go to jail with my colleagues. Aliullah Noman had to leave the country with his family. I received humiliation and deprivation. Even more unfortunate for journalists, the Skype scandal that led to the promotion of Nizamul Haque Nashim to the Appellate Division, he later became the chairman of the Press Council. I went to jail after finding out his crime. Claiming that there is still fascism in Bangladesh, Mahmudur Rahman said, I am still a criminal in the SB report. And Justice Nizamul Haque Nashim is a distinguished person. The one who should be in jail is walking around. Demanding police reforms, he said, to get promoted in 2022, police officer Mohiuddin showed as an achievement that he gave a charge sheet against me under the ICT Act. I don’t know where that policeman Mohiuddin is now, but our police is still working with them.

Warning the government not to use the word ‘radicalism’, he said users of ultra-Islamic and fundamentalist tags should be resisted. Iftekharuzzaman is in charge of a reform committee of Bangladesh government. He said that fundamentalism is rising in the country. Such personal words cannot be said from the government. His speech became the speech of the government. Where did he get this radicalism? Awami League has established fascism by using this card of fundamentalism, using it as mirror house, extrajudicial killings, killing thousands of people. Now Iftekharuzzaman is using fundamentalism card again, what is your purpose. It is your objective to establish a new form of Indian hegemony in Bangladesh. You speak against communalism, we are with you, don’t use the word fundamentalism. So I want to warn the government about this. He said to the common people, don’t be too Islamic. You couldn’t do anything during Fascism. Don’t overdo it now that you are free. Due to this, the image of the country will be damaged. Those who are exaggerating are theists and atheists, exaggerating about Hinduism, you will implement the Indian strategy.

Economist Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya should apologize, he said, Dr. Devapriya Bhattacharya was so powerful that the law was changed during the one-eleventh government to bring him into government. And currently the head of government. Salahuddin did not go to America with Yunus as a traveling companion, Debapriya did. This Devapriya used to campaign every day from 2005 during the 1-11 government to provide Indian corridor in the country. He campaigned daily with foreign money. His speech that day was that Bangladesh will become Singapore with the tariffs that the country will receive from the corridor. We want to know from him, how many dollars Bangladesh has earned from transit in the last 16 years? This God-fearer needs to apologize for making his people dream. He also said that whichever party comes to power, BNP, Awami League, Jamaat whoever comes, we will continue to fight with those who speak for Delhi. I will fight as long as I live. I promise everyone ‘to fight till death for the people from the ranks of the people’.
