The police recovered the body of a land worker from his office in Babuganj, Barisal. His name is Mu. Jasim Uddin Khan. His body was found hanging around his neck. He was working as a surveyor in the upazila land office for the last 4 years.
His body was recovered hanging from a fan after breaking the door of the office room on the third floor of the land office at around 10 o’clock on Sunday night.
Later, the police sent the body to Barisal Sherebangla Medical College (Shebachim) Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Night watchman Nikhil said that surveyor Jasim asked him to bring rice from the hotel around seven in the evening. After bringing food, he called out and was blocked from inside the room. After not getting any response for a long time, he informed the higher officials.
Locals say that someone may have planned to kill the land officer and try to call it a suicide. They do not think it is a suicide.
Initially, the matter seems to be a suicide, but the police said that the details will be known after the investigation.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Babuganj Police Station. Mahbubur Rahman said, the age of the deceased is approximately fifty years. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot around 10 pm. Later, the door of the room was broken and the dead body was recovered from inside. The body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
