One year on from Israeli genocide, the world is rocked by pro-Palestinian protests

In the name of self-defense, Israel, the occupier of the Middle East, is trying hard to legitimize the genocide in Gaza for 365 days. The level of torture, oppression and suppression of the inhabitants of the valley has exceeded all standards. Hundreds of innocent children have lost their parents in the Tel Aviv attack! Countless fathers have lost their children in the brutal missile, rocket and bomb attacks one after the other.

How inhuman if people can attack the mosque! The hospital can crush! Can wipe out a whole village! It is understandable if you don’t see Israel’s aggression.

The Netanyahu government has so far taken the lives of nearly 42,000 innocent people in the so-called military operation in Gaza in the name of killing Hamas. Almost all the people of Gaza have been displaced.

Pro-Palestinian people from different countries of the world have rallied against this despicable attack by Israel. They took to the streets to demand an end to the attacks on Gaza. Flag of Palestine in hand and slogan of freedom in mouth. Want freedom from the shackles of Israel.

Al-Jazeera, a Qatar-based media, has portrayed this movement in different countries.

A wake up call in Indonesia

More than 1,000 pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered outside the US embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, demanding an end to arms shipments to Israel.

“We are calling on all world leaders to wake up and free the Palestinians from Israeli oppression,” said one protester. This aggression is no longer a religious issue, but a truly humanitarian issue.

‘We are all Palestinians’ chants in South Africa

“Israel is an apartheid state” and “we are all Palestinians” chanted in Cape Town, South Africa. Hundreds of people marched towards Parliament on Sunday, chanting slogans.

Marches in support of Gaza are also planned in Johannesburg and Durban tomorrow, Monday.

Dispersal of protests in Italy

Police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse pro-Palestinian protesters in the Italian capital Rome. Hundreds of thousands of people protested peacefully in the city, chanting ‘Free Palestine, Free Lebanon’.

Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and called for an immediate end to the conflict. At that time there were banners-festoon-placards with various writings.

The rally was peaceful until a small group tried to move the rally towards the city center despite a ban by local authorities citing security concerns. Some of the protesters, some dressed in black and covered their faces, threw stones, bottles and paper bombs at the police. Then the violence escalated. Police responded with tear gas and water cannons. Eventually the crowd was dispersed.

At least 30 law enforcement officers and three protesters were injured in the clashes, local media reported.

Huge rally in London

The biggest rally in a year to stop the attack on Gaza was held in London. About 40,000 pro-Palestinian protesters marched in central London.

“Unfortunately, despite our best wishes, the Israeli government is not stopping,” London protester Agnes Cory told Reuters. They continue to commit atrocities in Gaza. Now they will move towards Lebanon, Yemen and possibly Iran.

And our government, our British government, unfortunately just pays lip service and continues to supply arms to Israel.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people took to the streets in Dublin, waving Palestinian flags and chanting ‘ceasefire now’.

Fears of regional war in France

In Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Strasbourg, France, thousands of people marched in solidarity with the Palestinians.

Lebanese-French protester Hussam Hossein told Reuters in Paris that he feared a regional war. Because at the moment there is tension with Iran and possibly with Iraq and Yemen.

“We really need to stop fighting,” he said. Because it has become unbearable now.

Al-Jazeera’s Natacha Butler, from the protest site in Paris’s Place de la République, said the protesters were frustrated by the war, which has dragged on for more than a year. They claim that the international community is completely inactive to stop this horror.

Natacha said people think France is not doing enough to protect civilians and people who are truly suffering.

Spain calls for a boycott of Israel

In Madrid, about 5,000 people joined the demonstration in support of the Palestinians. They carried placards reading ‘Boycott Israel’.

More than 1,000 protesters demonstrated outside the White House on Saturday to demand an end to arms and aid supplies to Israel.

A man tried to set himself on fire at the protest, and his left hand was set on fire before bystanders and police put out the fire, AFP news agency reported.

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters also marched on the Israeli embassy in Athens. But where the police were strictly guarding.

Slogans to stop genocide in Germany

At least 950 people waved Palestinian and Lebanese flags and chanted ‘stop the genocide’ in the northern German city of Hamburg.
