The scope of the National Citizens Committee has been further extended. 45 more members have been added to the previous committee of 55 members.


It includes Sarjis Alam, Zainal Abedin Shishir, Plaban Tariq, Sheikh Tasnim Afroz Imi and Arifur Rahman Tuhin.

After the anti-discrimination student movement and the fall of Sheikh Hasina, the new form of the National Citizen Committee emerged. Nasiruddin Patwari was convened and Akhtar Hossain was the member secretary of this 55-member organization established with the aim of building a consensus for the reconstruction of Bangladesh as an inclusive democratic state. This time, 45 more people have been added to the scope of that committee.

It is said to be working towards the abolition of the fascist system and the implementation of a new political settlement. 45 more people have been added to the central committee to uphold the spirit of this coup of students. As part of the ongoing process of enlargement of the committee, 45 persons have been announced as ‘core members’.

The central members are Sarjis Alam, Ali Ahsan Jonaid, Debashish Chakraborty, Mohammad Ejaz, Sheikh Tasnim Afroz Imi, Kailash Chandra Rabidas, Rafe Salman Rifat, Ushyapru Marma, Umme Habiba Benazir, Mir Arshadul Haque, Ali Nasher Khan, Mamunur Rashid, Abu Saeed Leon. , Shakib Mahdi, Jobairul Hasan Arif, Syeda Neelima Dola, Sharif Osman Hadi, Ali Ammar Muaz, Arefin Mohammad, Bhimpalli David Raju, Agriculturist Golam Mortuza Salim, Sonamani Karmakar, Dr. Minhajul Abedin, Said Ujjwal, Md. Burhan Uddin Noman, Md. Rakib Hossain, Md. Arifur Rahman (Tuhin), Rafid Bhuiyan, Zainal Abedin Shishir, Johnny Akand, Miaz Mehrab Talukder, Md. Naeem Ahmad, Sagar Barua, Plaban Tariq, M. Wali Ullah, Moshfiqur Rahman Johan, Sadia Farzana, Saifullah Haider, Mullah Mohammad Farooq Ehsan, Ehtesham Haque, Orni Semanti Khan, Mahbub Alam Mahir, Dr. Ashraful Alam Sumon, Dutee Aranya Chowdhury.

Earlier on September 8, a 55-member National Citizens Committee was formed with the aim of reforming and restructuring the state. Nasiruddin Patwari, a former student of Marketing Department of Dhaka University and former research and information affairs assistant editor of AB Party was convened in the committee. Akhtar Hossain, a former student of DU Law Department and former social welfare secretary of DAKSU, was made the member secretary of the committee.

Apart from this, the other 52 members of the committee include Sanjida Islam Tuli, organizer of Mother’s Call, physician Tasneem Zara, physician and activist Tajnubha Jabeen, Sabhanaz Rashid Dia, Head of Public Policy at Mater Bangladesh, researcher and writer Sarwar Tushar, content creator Salman Muktadir, former member of the State Reform Movement. Pritam Das, lawyer Manzoor-al-Matin and many others.
