Former US President Donald Trump said that Israel should first attack the country’s nuclear facilities to retaliate against Iran’s missile attack. He said this while participating in an election campaign in North Carolina on Friday local time.

Iran fired about 200 missiles at Israel last Tuesday. Since then, Iran-Israel relations have been under renewed tension. Last Wednesday, US President Joe Biden was asked whether he would support if Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities in retaliation? In response, Biden said, ‘No.’

Trump said in the election campaign about this statement, ‘When he (Biden) was asked this question, his answer should have been to attack the nuclear program first. The rest will be seen later.’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump rarely spoke about the Middle East crisis on the campaign trail. Analysts say that the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris may have a tough fight in the US presidential election next November.

Washington’s active diplomatic efforts to broker a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Palestinian Gaza Strip have yet to yield any positive results. Instead, the conflict increased.
