The Department of Meteorology has said that there may be light to moderate rains or rains with thunder across the country till October 11.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours has said that there may be light to moderate rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
Meanwhile, four seaports of the country have been asked to show local warning signal number three. The Meteorological Department has also asked fishing trawlers to stay close to the coast until further notice.
According to the forecast, under the influence of active monsoon winds, deep circulating clouds are forming over the North Bay of Bengal and the coastal areas of Bangladesh. Due to its effect, gale force winds may blow over the coastal areas of Bangladesh, North Bay of Bengal and sea ports.
The department said that a low pressure may develop in Bangladesh and North Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.
It has also been said that Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to display three (re)number three local warning signals. At the same time fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay of Bengal have been asked to move cautiously close to the coast till further instructions.
