A fire broke out in a building of Meghna Group’s tissue factory at Sonargaon in Narayanganj.
On Monday (November 18) early morning, the fire occurred in the tissue factory godown of the Meghna Group in Jhauchar area of Pirojpur Union of the upazila. 10 units of different stations of fire service are working to control the fire.
It is known that the fire started in the godown of fresh tissue paper in the morning. In this, 10 units of Sonargaon, Ghazaria, Ghazaria Basic Fire Station, Bandar, Kanchpur and Siddique Bazar fire stations are working to control the fire and more units are joining the fire control work. Besides, Meghna Group’s own fire service is working to control the fire.
As of writing this report, the fire could not be brought under control at 8:30 am. The extent of damage could not be assessed as the fire was not brought under control.
Fakhruddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service, said that the fire occurred around 5:30 am. After receiving the information, they reached within 5:30 and started working to control the fire. Now 10 units of different stations are working to control the fire.
