The freedom fighters are not the assets of any single party, the freedom fighters are the national assets. Shafiqul Islam Masud said, “Awami League has undermined the dignity of freedom fighters by making the brave freedom fighters who participated in the great liberation war of 1971 as party assets after independence.”

He said, ‘After the July-August movement of 2024, some are claiming the martyrs as workers of their party. He is announcing the number of martyrs of his party. However, the injured are being avoided. Because the responsibility of their treatment and rehabilitation may fall on the team. Jamaat-e-Islami did not give party identity as Jamaat-camp of martyrs in July-August movement and does not want to give it. We think that all martyrs and injured in this movement are national heroes, national assets. Seeing them as party workers will limit their status in the eyes of the nation. We want the national hero to be in honor of the national hero.’

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the associate member conference of Jamaat-e-Islami in Wari East police station of the capital on Saturday night.

Dr. Masud said, ‘Some are discussing the achievements and failures of 100 days of fascism-free Bangladesh. I will say, the biggest failure in the last three months after the revolution was not overthrowing the Awami Dosars.

Pointing out that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made Bangladesh free but Bangladesh has not been free from fascism, he said, ‘The grip of fascism is very deep and strong. If they are not listed and overthrown, the revolution of the students may fail. So the interim government has to be more strict. Jamaat-e-Islami will give full support and cooperation to the government in this regard.

He said, ‘After the revolution achieved by the students, it is now seen that some hold meetings, but it is not clear who is the leader and who is the worker on the stage. When the chief guest goes to give a speech, the workers stand around him in such a way that it is not clear who the chief guest is. Later, the chief guest posted that picture with a tick mark on his face! They are somehow unable to restore order in the party. Those who do not have discipline in their own house, in their party, they will not be able to maintain order in the state. They are desperate for power. By seizing power, looting will begin at breakneck speed. They capture people’s shops, houses, wealth of Hindus, we capture people’s hearts. They have usurped the wealth of the Hindus and we are and will remain the shelter of the Hindus. Thieves and bandits scare people, Jamaat-e-Islami will cut off their hands if they come to power! But no, it is not the law of Jamaat-e-Islami, if you steal, cut off your hand, it is the law of Allah. If you don’t steal, no one will get hurt. Criminals fear Islam. Islam is the safe haven for the innocent. Therefore, he called on everyone to support Jamaat-e-Islami regardless of party, creed, and come under the banner of the organization.

Speaking as a special guest at the event, Dhaka Metropolitan South Assistant Secretary Mohammad Kamal Hossain said, ‘Jamaate-e-Islami was established in 1941 for acquiring knowledge, building character and social revolution. Jamaat-e-Islami is working to overthrow the dishonest leadership and create honest qualified leadership. The politics of Jamaat-e-Islami is to gain the pleasure of Allah through the welfare of people and attain Paradise. In 2005, a report on the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami was published in Walled Journal. The report mentions that Jamaat-e-Islami is the address of honest and qualified leadership. There is no substitute for honest and competent leadership in building a discrimination-free Bangladesh. This leadership is only in Jamaat-e-Islami.

Besides, another special guest assistant secretary Dr. Abdul Mannan said, ‘People of this country have seen the rule of many parties but could not see the rule of Jamaat-e-Islami. People are raising their voices in the neighborhoods today, all is over, the Bangladesh of the future is the Bangladesh of Islam. Among the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami who have served as MP-ministers in the past, not a single leader has been accused of looting or embezzling state resources. When Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power, no one will have to pay subscriptions for house construction, no one will have to pay subscriptions for vegetable sellers on the sidewalk. Businessmen will do their business smoothly, no one will ask for a single rupee. There will be no terrorism, extortionists, usurpers, corruptors. Jamaat-e-Islami will establish a truly welfare and humanitarian state.
