Dengue claimed 8 more lives, seven of them from Dhaka

Eight more people died of dengue from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am (in one day). 407 people have died of dengue so far this year. At the same time, another 994 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue.


This information was given in a press release sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Saturday (November 16).

Among those who died in 24 hours, five are from Dhaka South City Corporation, two from Dhaka North City Corporation and one from Chittagong division.

Among those affected, there are 236 people from Dhaka North City Corporation area and 148 people from Dhaka South City Corporation area. Also, 238 people in Dhaka Division, 65 in Chittagong Division, 119 in Barisal Division, 74 in Khulna Division, 46 in Mymensingh Division, 61 in Rajshahi Division, 6 in Rangpur Division and one in Sylhet Division have been admitted to hospital.

According to the Department of Health, a total of 78,595 patients have been admitted to the hospital since January this year. 407 people have died of dengue so far this year. Last year, 3 lakh 21 thousand 179 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. 1 thousand 705 people died.
