The results of this year’s HSC and equivalent exams, which were canceled midway, may be released between October 15 and 17. The education boards have proposed to the government to publish the results on any one of these three days.

The Chairman of Dhaka Education Board and the President of Inter-Education Board Coordinating Committee, Association of Education Board Chairmen, Tapan Kumar Sarkar said about this proposal and said that they hope to get the result release date soon.

Although some HSC and equivalent exams were held this year, some exams were canceled due to the anti-discrimination student movement. It was informed by the Ministry of Education that the results will be prepared by evaluating the answer sheets (books) of the exams held. And the results of the canceled exams will be prepared based on the candidates’ SSC and JSC or equivalent exam results.

In this regard, Inter Education Board Coordinating Committee President Tapan Kumar Sarkar said that the answer sheets of the subjects which have already been examined will be evaluated and the results will be published. And for those subjects which have not been examined, the results will be published on the basis of SSC or equivalent examination results by subject mapping. There is a policy for topic mapping. In this process the marks obtained by a candidate in a subject in SSC, if that subject is in HSC, the entire marks obtained in SSC will be taken into consideration. And if there is a difference in subjects in SSC and HSC and equivalent examinations, the result will be published considering the marks as per subject mapping policy.

The education department was forced to cancel this year’s HSC or equivalent exams when the candidates protested and surrounded the secretariat after entering the secretariat last August.
