A student named Rubel Hossain has been accused of being killed by throwing him from the roof of the house by tying his hands and feet in Kushtia. He was a student of Power Department of Kushtia Government Polytechnic Institute. The incident took place on Tuesday (October 1) in the Aruapara area of Kushtia city around 11:15 pm.
According to the police and eyewitness sources, Rubel was first blindfolded and brutally beaten. Then he was thrown from the roof of a four-storey building with his hands and feet tied. At this time, the people around ran to the scream of Rubel. He was admitted in Kushtia 250 Bed General Hospital after he was rescued in a coma. Later, when his condition deteriorated, he died around 12:30 pm while being taken to Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital for better treatment.
Although the exact reason for the murder is not known, the police believe that the incident was committed by one of the rivals due to a previous dispute. Several students of the hostel have been questioned by the police.
Kushtia Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abu Rasel said that the incident is being investigated. Efforts are underway to identify those involved in the incident and bring them under the law.
