The US has said it wants to see religious freedom respected in Bangladesh and those involved in any attacks held accountable.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters at a regular media briefing in Washington on November 7, “We have made it clear in discussions with Bangladeshi officials that we want to see respect for religious freedom.”
Miller said the United States wants to see those involved in any attacks held accountable under Bangladeshi law.
He also said that they have the same position in Bangladesh and anywhere in the world.
At a regular briefing in New Delhi on Thursday (November 7), India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters, ‘We once again call on the Bangladesh government to take strict measures to ensure the safety of Hindus and take action against extremists.’
