Ali Ahsan Jobaid, the former president of Dhaka University (DU) student camp, has given a Facebook post about the Bangladesh Chhatra League. In the post, the leader of the camp has highlighted some of the tortures that have happened to the ordinary students of DU.

On Tuesday (September 24) at midnight, he highlighted the horrors of the Chhatra League’s torture on social media Facebook. For Yugantar readers, it is highlighted exactly:

“What fear we have had to go through this long time, please don’t forget so quickly.

I had to hide myself every day. I had to hide my identity, I had to hide my political ideology, I had to hide my family political identity, I had to hide the name of the educational institution (Madrasah), I had to hide my feelings, all the accumulated anger, I had to hide Facebook likes, comments, status. We lost ourselves in hiding. How many people can say that they did not hide with their hands on their chests? Where have you been so far?

How much trouble I hide every day. The hardships of living in an uninhabitable place in the name of public rooms, the hardships of all the indescribable tortures in the name of guest rooms, the hardships of living somehow by eating substandard food in the canteen, the hardships of participating in compulsory programs after class-examinations, the hardships of spending sleepless nights because of being thrown out of the hall at night, the hardships of not getting good results. The difficulty of doing, the difficulty of getting bad results, the difficulty of not becoming a teacher just because of political position despite good results. What? Did not hide these?

Who had the courage to go beyond the decision of the Chhatra League?! Chhatra League gave the name to the committee without saying anything, whose father had the ability to cut the name?! What could not be done?

How did you forget this? Hundreds of abused students were forgotten! Abrar forgot! Forgot to distinguish between the torturer and the victim!

Let’s fight together to bring to justice those who created this long 16-year reign of fear and oppression, and brutal torture.”
