Inu Dipu Moni and Palak in court after remand

After the remand, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president and former minister Hasanul Haque Inu, former social welfare minister Dipu Moni, former state minister for telecommunication and information technology Junaid Ahmed Palak and former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun have been produced in the court. They were taken to the CMM court in Dhaka on Sunday morning. 

Former Information Minister and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) President Hasanul Haque Inu was on remand for the third round in the case of the murder of Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a student of Ideal College. Sub-Inspector (SI) Akkas Mia applied for a seven-day remand along with the arrest of Khaled Saifullah, a student of Ideal College, in the case of Lalbagh police station. A team of DB Police arrested Inu from a house in Uttara on the afternoon of August 25. On August 26, the court granted his seven-day remand in the case of the murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in the capital’s New Market. On September 3, Sujan, a truck driver of the capital’s Mohammadpur police station, granted his five-day remand in the murder case. Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first year student of Ideal College, was shot dead in Lalbagh’s Azimpur government residential area during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 18. In this incident, his father Kamrul Hasan filed a murder case at Lalbagh police station on August 19.

 On August 24, Awami League’s joint general secretary and former minister Dr. Badda police station case. Court granted remand of Dipu Moni for 4 days. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jaseem’s court granted the remand. On this day, the police applied to remand Sumon Sikdar for 10 days in the case of murder at Badda police station in the capital. He was arrested on August 19 from Baridhara. The next day, the court granted Dipu Moni’s four-day remand in the case of the killing of Abu Sayed, a grocery shopkeeper in the capital’s Mohammadpur, in the indiscriminate shooting of students during the anti-discrimination movement on August 20.
