Staff Reporter: BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman said, this interim government is in exchange for the blood of thousands of students. So this government cannot be allowed to fail in any way. However, he said, they must also be careful that the interim government does not become the cause of its own failure. He said this at a rally organized on the occasion of International Democracy Day in front of the party’s central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

This mass meeting was held on the occasion of ‘International Democracy Day’ under the initiative of BNP. In addition to various police stations and wards of Dhaka city, leaders and workers from Gazipur, Narsingdi, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Tangail districts also participated in this rally with banners and festoons.

At 2.30 pm, the rally turned into a mass in the presence of thousands of leaders and workers from Notre Dame College to the Nightangle Restaurant junction in Kakrail. Many of the participating workers had placards with portraits of Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia and Tariq Rahman.

Expressing the hope that Bangladesh will go on the electoral roadmap on the path of reform, Tarek Rahman said, I want to say that our beloved Bangladesh will go on the electoral roadmap on the path of reform. Let us earn people’s trust, people’s love through work. Keep the people together, live with the people. That is why the Acting Chairman of BNP also gave a new message to the leaders and workers to prepare.

He said, I want to say that the change of power does not mean only the change of power of the state. A change in power means a qualitative change in the state and politics. So I am needed among every political leader and worker. A qualitative change in the behavior of political party leaders and workers is necessary for qualitative change in politics. So my appeal is that we prepare ourselves to lead a knowledge-based state and society without being misled by any temptation or provocation.

Tariq Rahman said, your spontaneous presence today on this road where hundreds of martyrs are bathed in blood means that the power of Bangladesh will have to cross some more paths in this journey of building Bangladesh without people’s differences. But that way is definitely not terrorism, conflict, revenge or revenge. That path will be patience, tolerance and compromise.

Regarding the new political party, Tariq Rahman said, if someone thinks that more new political parties are needed for a mature and secure Bangladesh, there is nothing in the country. Ultimately the people will make the final decision. It is up to the people to support or not to support. For this reason, BNP has always emphasized the right of people to vote. BNP believes that direct participation of the people with the state, politics and political establishment is necessary only through free and fair elections.

He said that there are various talks in the field of politics about mass uprising or reform activities. This is a normal and acceptable policy in democratic politics. It is natural that everyone will express their own point of view. There is nothing to be upset about. As a political activist, I believe that just as criminal offenses are judged in a court of law, political activity or political behavior is judged in a public court.

Depicting the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the revolution of the students, the ‘mafia clique’ destroying the country’s politics, economy and democratic institutions, burdening the people with debt, Tariq Rahman said that after the main mafia clique fled the country in the mass explosion against injustice, irregularity and anarchy. Mafia rule-exploitation is over. A major obstacle to building a democratic, humane Bangladesh may have been removed through the escape of real dictatorship. However, even though the obstacles have been removed, the 15-year mess of the mafia cycle has not been removed. The interim government is working to remove this mess and establish a democratic government accountable to the people of Bangladesh. However, despite escaping from the main country of the mafia, the beneficiary forces of the mafia continue to challenge the interim government from within the administration or under the guise of politics.

He said that the present government is the product of the people’s uprising in return for the blood of thousands of martyrs. All the activities of this government may not be considered a success by everyone. But we all have to remember that the failure of this government is the failure of all of us. People’s failure for Bangladesh. That is why this interim government cannot be allowed to fail in any way. People will not allow this government to fail due to various provocations abroad. Because everyone must be careful that the interim government does not cause itself to fail. People have continued to support this government and will continue to do so.
