The activities of Nahid-Asif’s Democratic Students’ Shakti have been suspended

Less than a year after its establishment, all the committees and activities of the Democratic Students’ Shakti formed under the leadership of the former social service secretary of Dhaka University’s Central Students’ Union (DACSU) have been announced suspended.

This was announced by a post on the organization’s Facebook page yesterday at around 3 pm.

It is written in that post that all the committees and activities of the democratic student movement have been suspended.

The leaders of the democratic student movement were at the forefront of the movement that brought down the Awami League government in the coup of the students. The two leaders of this organization Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan are serving as advisors to the interim government. Coordinator Lutfar Rahman, Arif Sohail of Jahangirnagar University, was the joint convener. Apart from this, Coordinator Nusrat Tabassum was on the post of Joint Member Secretary.

Coordinators Abdul Quader and Tarekul Islam were the joint conveners of the organization’s Dhaka University branch. Abu Bakr Majumdar was the member secretary of Dhaka University. Rafia Rehnuma Hridi, Abdul Hannan Masood were joint member secretaries of Dhaka University.

Apart from this, Md Rashidul Islam Rifat, Hasir Al Islam, Abdullah Salehin Ayan, Musaddiq Ali Ibn Mohammad were included as members.

On October 4, 2023, the organization made its debut by holding a press conference in front of Daksu. Two leaders of the organization became part of the government before the organization completed one year.

Akhtar Hossain, the former social services secretary of Daksu, said that the activities of this organization have been suspended earlier.
