Strict action, instructions issued for negligence of medical care

The health department has issued instructions to take strict legal action against those involved in medical negligence. 

The matter was informed in a circular signed by Muhammad Jasim Uddin, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

According to the notification, the government has announced to bear the cost of treatment of injured and admitted patients in the anti-discrimination student movement. However, there are reports of charges against the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute (NITOR) for this service. All concerned have been asked to refrain from this activity.

The directive also states that representatives of pharmaceutical companies or dealers of different companies cannot enter the hospital, every doctor must follow the schedule of seeing patients properly, no visitor can enter inside the hospital and the patient’s room except during the appointment.

At the same time, strict legal action will be taken against those concerned if they fail to comply with this order. This directive will be applicable to all hospitals in the country. The central coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement will oversee this matter.
