Information advisor Nahid Islam said, ‘I don’t need to think sir. No need to say sir. I am here as your child. I am from the people. I have brought the demands of the people. I have brought the dream of a new Bangladesh. Now I wish you that cooperation.’

He said these things while talking to journalists in the meeting room of the Ministry of Information in the Secretariat on Sunday (August 18).

He said, ‘Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is a very important ministry of the state. Freedom of expression and media situation in Bangladesh as a whole depends on this ministry.

Nahid Islam said, ‘Sagar-Rooney’s murder has been made a farce. The ministry will work on it. An Independent Media Commission is being considered initially. It will be fixed by discussing with the journalists. Restrictive laws, which are a hindrance to the freedom of the media, must be reconsidered.’

The information adviser also said, “I want the help of the media in the investigation by revealing the true picture of the massacre in the student uprising.” I don’t want factionalism among journalists, let neutral journalism be practiced for people.’
