The IMA said only the emergency services department will be operational today. Everything else including OPD will be closed. It has been decided not to do any type of surgery today. They demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits as well as stricter security in every hospital like an airport.

Besides providing security to each hospital with CCTV cameras, there has been a demand to increase security, ensure a safe place for doctors to rest.

Earlier, there were farmers’ movement in India for various demands including fair price of crops. This time, a deadlock is being created in the country due to the doctor’s strike. Not only in West Bengal, protests are taking place in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other big cities demanding justice in the case of the rape and murder of a doctor.
