The number of dengue cases and patient deaths has been increasing in the country for the past few days. Five people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. With this, 30 people have died of dengue so far this month. Besides, 872 new people have been admitted to the hospital due to this disease.
The Department of Health informed this information in a press release on Tuesday.
It said that five people died of dengue in the last 24 hours (from 8:00 am yesterday Monday to 8:00 am Tuesday). Among them, three people died in Dhaka. One died outside Barisal city and another outside Chittagong city.
The notification also said that a maximum of 224 people have been admitted with dengue in the last 24 hours in Chittagong.
186 people have been admitted to different hospitals of Dhaka North City Corporation and 167 people have been infected with dengue in South City Corporation hospitals.
Besides, 72 people in Khulna division, 80 people in Barisal division, 25 in Rajshahi division, 13 in Mymensingh division and three in Rangpur division hospitals have been admitted with dengue.
The notification of the department also said that since January 1, 113 people have died of dengue. Besides, more than 20,000 have been affected.
