Five people were killed after being run over by a speeding train in Narsingdi’s Raipura. Two people were injured.
The casualties were not immediately known.
This incident took place in Kamalpur village of the upazila at around 5:30 am on Monday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raipura Police Station Safayet Hossain Palash said that in the morning, locals saw the body lying next to the Dhaka-Chittagong railway line in Kamalpur village of Palashtali Union of the upazila.
He said that the body was recovered from the spot and two injured persons were admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital
The OC said that they are believed to have been cut off by Titas commuter train from Akhaura station in Brahmanbaria to Dhaka. The train was supposed to cross Narsingdi by 7 am.
He also said that the details of the incident will be informed later.
