A total of four people, including three from the same family, were killed in a head-on collision between a loaded truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at Sherpur in Bogra. The accident took place on Dhaka-Bogra highway in Serua Battala Bazar area of Shahbandegi Union of Upazila on Thursday (July 11) evening. In-charge of Sherpur Highway Police Camp Abul Hasem confirmed the truth of the incident.
The deceased are Ariful Islam (32), son of Badiuzzaman of Basail village in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj, his wife Moushumi Akter (25) and son Saimun Hossain (4) and the driver of the auto-rickshaw Md Parbat Sekh of Selun village in Tarash upazila of the same district. Naseem (30).
According to the police, when a Dhaka-bound truck reached the Serua Battala area of the highway, it collided head-on with a CNG-powered autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction. A total of four people, including three from the same family, were killed on the spot. The bodies are at the local upazila health complex and the highway police outpost. Police officer Abul Hasem said that efforts are underway to rescue the truck and auto-rickshaw that were involved in the accident.
