Three people were killed in the capital. This incident took place on Friday after two people were beaten to death in two universities. Among them, miscreants hacked to death two youths named Nasir Biswas (23) and Munna Howladar (24) in Mohammadpur. The body of a person named Noor Islam (50) was recovered from Taltala area of Khilgaon. Police believe that he was beaten to death.
Nasir’s elder brother Islam Biswas said that Nasir lived in the house of Baraikhali road number 12 in Rayerbazar area of Hazaribagh. His house is in West Baligram of Kalkini Upazila of Madaripur. He was a mason by profession. On Friday evening, miscreants attacked him near gate number one of Mohammadpur’s Intellectual Cemetery. Nasir later died at Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital around 9:30 pm.
His friend Shawon Ahmed said, ‘When we went to the Sadek Khan Agricultural Market area on a motorcycle, we saw a fight. There a young man stabbed Nasir on the back with a sharp weapon. Then he got off the motorcycle and ran towards the cemetery. Some youths followed and hacked Nasir near the gate of the cemetery. He was a local Awami League worker.’
According to the police, Munna Howladar was killed in the same incident. He was rescued and taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. His father’s name is Babar Howlader; The house is Patuakhali. He lived in Pabna House Gali, Rayerbazar. There are at least five cases against Munna on various charges including murder, robbery, theft.
Mizanur Rahman, assistant commissioner of Mohammadpur region of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that the patrol police went to the spot after receiving information about the clash between Emon and Altaf groups. Two injured people were rescued from there and taken to the hospital where doctors declared them dead. The police are working to identify those involved in the murder and bring them under the law.
Earlier on September 17, a young man named Shahadat Hossain was hacked to death on the road adjacent to Green View Housing in Mohammadpur’s three road junction area.
A person was ‘beaten to death’ in Khilgaon
Police recovered the body of a person named Noor Islam (50) from Taltala area of Khilgaon on Friday afternoon. He has injury marks on different parts of his body.
Daud Khan, OC of Khilgaon police station said, Noor lived with his family in Rayerchar area of Keraniganj, Dhaka. He previously worked in a private company. He was recently unemployed. He often came to Dhaka in search of work. He left home last Thursday morning. After that, his relatives did not find him. His body was found in Jhilpara around 12:30 noon on Friday. How he died will come out in the post-mortem. The case is under process in this incident.
