The list of deaths due to dengue is getting longer. Five people died in 24 hours till 8 am on Tuesday. With this, a total of 193 people have died of dengue in the country this year. In 24 hours, 981 people were admitted to different hospitals of the country. This year, 38 thousand 789 people were admitted to the hospital. This information has been informed in the press release sent by the Department of Health today.
It is said that so far 130 people have died in different hospitals of Dhaka city. 63 people died outside Dhaka. In the last 24 hours, 196 people have been admitted to different hospitals of Dhaka North City Corporation with dengue. 180 in Dhaka South City, 159 in other places of Dhaka Division, 180 in Chittagong Division, 93 in Barisal Division, 95 in Khulna, 17 in Mymensingh, 30 in Rangpur, 47 in Rajshahi and four people have been admitted with dengue in different hospitals of Sylhet Division.
Last year saw the highest number of dengue infections and deaths in the country. That year, 3 lakh 21 thousand 179 people were infected with dengue and admitted to the hospital. 1 thousand 705 people died. Last year the highest number of 396 people died in September. 79 thousand 598 people were admitted to the hospital with dengue in that month. In October, 359 people died of dengue, 67 thousand 769 people were hospitalized.
