BUET student Abrar Fahad was killed in 2019 during the regime of Sheikh Hasina in the brutal torture of Chhatra League.
Monday is his fifth martyrdom anniversary. Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced a new program on this occasion.
Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nashir Uddin Nashir announced this program on Sunday.
According to the programme, Chhatra Dal will hold a silent march and memorial meeting in various university and college campuses of the country to demand a democratic campus for safe and free intellectual practice on Monday.
Abrar was a brilliant student of electrical engineering department of BUET. On October 7, 2019, the police recovered Abrar’s body from the ground floor of Sher-e-Bangla Hall in Buet. Footage from a closed-circuit camera on the second floor of the residence hall shows some students dragging Abrar down a corridor by his arms and legs.
Earlier, he was beaten to death by some leaders of BUET branch Chhatra League. Later, the matter came up in the post-mortem report.
