All parties have given full support to interim government in dialogue: Mahfuz Alam

Mahfuz Alam, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, said that all the political parties have wholeheartedly supported the interim government in the dialogue with the Chief Adviser on Saturday.

After the long dialogue of the political parties with the chief advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus, he told reporters on Saturday night, ‘All political parties have supported the government. They are considering it as their own government.’

The dialogue started at 2.30 pm at the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna and continued till 9 pm. Major political parties joined the dialogue.

Mahfuz said that in the dialogue, the government has sought proposals from political parties and the current law and order situation has also been discussed.

He said that there are six reform commissions and issues of preparation for elections have been discussed. This dialogue will continue.

In response to a question, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that the six reform commissions will submit their reports in December, when a consensus will be reached on the reform program.

Stating that the time frame depends on the consensus, he said that the work of election-centered preparations will proceed simultaneously with the formation of the Election Commission.

Elections, improvement of law and order situation, restructuring of public administration and price control were discussed in the dialogue.

The Chief Adviser briefed the political parties on his government’s initiatives to address these concerns and they all pledged cooperation.
