The Meteorological Department has said that storms with a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour may pass over 18 regions of the country including Dhaka.
This information was given in the forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 5 am to 1 pm on Saturday (October 5).
Hourly from south/south-east over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet areas, the forecast said. Temporarily gusty, gusty winds with a speed of 45 to 60 km, rain, thundershowers may occur.
Besides, the river ports of these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 1.
According to another forecast, in the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Saturday, most places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and many places of Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Chittagong and Barisal divisions may experience light to moderate rain with gusty winds and thunder.
Also, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country at this time.
