The notorious terrorist Sohag Majhi of Lohalia Union of Patuakhali Sadar Upazila, accused of bank robbery, rape, extortion and other cases, has been arrested in an army operation.
A joint operation team managed to arrest him from his relative’s house in a remote village at around 02.10 am on Thursday (October 3).
Colonel Mohsin, camp commanding officer of Patuakhali District Army, said that several people brought serious allegations against an identified criminal named Md. Sohag Majhi in Patuakhali Sadar Camp recently. It is known that he is involved in cases of rape, robbery, extortion by displaying illegal weapons in Patuakhali Sadar police station and a bank robbery case in Dhaka CMM court.
Further investigation revealed that he had recently made life miserable by running an extortion and criminal network in the area. He has numerous cases against him and the police have been looking for him for a long time. To identify its exact location, several methods are used.
The accused has been handed over to Patuakhali Sadar Police Station for further legal action. Several previous cases filed against him show his arrest.
