China calls on the United Nations to stop tensions in the Middle East

China has called on the United Nations to stop tensions in the Middle East. Iran, Hezbollah and the Houthis are involved in a war with Israel over the Palestinian issue. This has spread tension throughout the Middle East. As a result, the country made this call expressing concern.

According to Reuters, China expressed concern about the situation in the Middle East after Israel carried out new airstrikes in Lebanon. The country has also called upon the United Nations Security Council to take urgent steps to bring the tension under control.

China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Kong, said during the Security Council briefing on Wednesday that the United Nations needs to make clear and firm demands to stop the violence in the Israel-Lebanon conflict.

He also said that the Security Council should bear the primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. That is why all the concerned parties should also return to the path of political and diplomatic solutions.
