Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said that the Mirpur-10 station of metro rail can be operational from this October. This information was revealed by DMTCL sources on Wednesday.
The organization said that the Mirpur-10 station was heavily damaged by miscreants during the anti-discrimination student movement. Almost all the equipment of the station including control room, display, camera TVM, passenger gate were damaged. The system and design of these equipments are owned by the manufacturer. As a result, these are not available to buy from other companies. Therefore, Mirpur-10 station will be launched by bringing some equipment from those stations which have relatively less passenger pressure. Also, some parts will be brought from the training center for the time being. This is reducing the cost for the time being and the passengers will also get the service of the station quickly.
In this regard, DMTCL Managing Director (ongoing duty) Mohammad Abdur Rauf said, ‘The road advisor has instructions to start the Mirpur-10 station quickly. Now the station is working. It will be launched soon so that passengers can use it in no time. Attempts are being made to start this station also at a low cost.’
