Student camp calls to stand by the flood victims

Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir has called upon the organization’s responsible, workers and conscious citizens of the country to come forward to help the flood-affected people.


Central President Manjurul Islam and Secretary General Zahidul Islam said in a joint statement, “Due to heavy rainfall and landslides from India, severe floods have occurred in the northern part of the country. Large areas of Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Nilphamari and Gaibandha have been inundated. As a result, millions of people have been affected. Faced with a humanitarian disaster due to waterlogging. People across the river are spending days in fear. Roads are submerged and fish in ponds are washed away.

The leaders said, “The normal life of people is being disrupted due to the submergence of roads and houses. All sections of people, including women, children and the elderly, are suffering. People are facing a desperate situation trying to protect their cattle and poultry. Thousands of hectares of cropland are under water. Farmers have suffered huge losses due to subsidence.”

Mentioning that it is very important to stand by the flood affected people in such a situation, they said, “I call on the leaders and workers of all levels of the Islamic Student Camp to stand by the flood victims.”

The leaders expressed the hope that the government will pay special attention to the northern region, which is lagging behind in many ways. Apart from this, all conscious citizens will come forward to help the flood victims in the light of their ability.
