In the 4th week of September, remittances reached $211 million

The flow of remittances or expatriate income has increased. In the first four weeks of this month, 211 million 31 million US dollars came into the country. An average of 75.5 million dollars remittances came every day.

This information is known from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (September 29).

According to the data, during the same period of August, 200.76 million dollars came into the country. Accordingly, the remittance flow has increased in this month.

In the first four weeks of September, 58.65 million 30 thousand US dollars came through the state-owned banks. Besides, 9 crore 25 lakh 70 thousand dollars came through specialized banks, 142 crore 86 lakh 70 thousand dollars through private banks and 53 lakh 40 thousand dollars through foreign sector banks.

Bangladesh Bank also said that between September 22 and 28, remittances to the country reached 478.8890 thousand dollars. Between 15 and 21 September, remittances of 467 million 30 thousand dollars have arrived in the country.

In addition, between September 8 and 14, remittances to the country reached 582.6 million 60 thousand dollars. And in the first week of September, expatriates sent home 584.5 million 40 thousand dollars.

Earlier, the remittances in the first month of the current financial year were around USD 191 million after USD 253.86 million in June last year, which was the lowest in the last 10 months.

However, after the formation of the interim government, the situation started to normalize. As a result of this, expatriates sent the highest remittance of 222 crore 13 lakh 20 thousand US dollars in the current financial year last August.
