After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 and Sheikh Hasina fleeing the country, differences between BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami have been seen over the elections.

Jamaat-e-Islami leaders say they will welcome any new political party and they have no reason to worry about it.

Publicity Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Matiur Rahman Akand said, if someone new comes now, it is their democratic right, constitutional right. We do not think that the emergence of a new political party will pose any challenge to those who have been in politics for a long time.

He said, the alliance was once there. At that time, there was an alliance against the Awami League to save the country from the evil forces. Now that that evil power is no longer in power, there is no need for alliances for coherent reasons. It is not right to think of someone as a challenge or as an opponent from the position from which he is doing politics.

Jamaat-e-Islami is discussing the possibility of forming a political front with various Islamist groups and organizations. Many people think that there will be a new polarization in politics if there is such an alliance.

Akand said that no political front or electoral unity has been discussed yet. We exchanged views with each other. Unity is given more importance. There was no discussion of any political or electoral alliance here. Jamaat-e-Islami does not want to rush the elections.

Many people think that the more time available for the election, the more Jamaat will organize itself and try to create a positive image. In that case, the issue will give political advantage to Jamaat in the elections.

Matiur Rahman Akand said, if the election is not fair and impartial and if the machinery cannot work properly, then the election will be later or earlier. That is why we are giving importance to reforms. If the election is later, the Jamaat will benefit, if it is earlier, it will be a disadvantage, this is not the case.
