Member Secretary of Bangladesh Combined Professional Council and Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Quader Gani Chowdhury said that there is a conspiracy to destroy the success achieved in the blood of the students. This conspiracy must be stopped. Dictatorship and fascism must be banished from Bangladesh forever.

The leader told the journalists that the ownership of the country should be explained to the people. We want full democracy. I want the right to vote. Want a natural death guarantee. I want media freedom. We want an end to disappearances, murders and extrajudicial killings. We want the rule of law. We want human rights. We want a humane Bangladesh.

He said that the smuggled money should be brought back to the country. Those involved in the stock market scam should be tried. Those who looted the country’s money in the name of electricity, quick rental, mega projects should be tried. Students and mass murderers should be given exemplary punishment.

He said this at a reception and exchange meeting held in New York on Thursday (September 26) morning.

Expatriate Bangladeshis organized this welcome and exchange program on the occasion of the arrival of Bangladesh Combined Professional Council Member Secretary, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists General Secretary, BNP Central Committee Information and Research Affairs Co-Editor Quader Gani Chowdhury.

Advocate Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Nazir Ahmad Bhandari, Abdur Rahim Bahar, Jahangir Alam, Harunur Rashid, Abdul Mannan, Masood Rana, Ahsan Ullah Mamun, Mozammel Hossain Sohag, Shah Alam, Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Harunur participated in the discussion under the chairmanship of former student leader Zakir H Chowdhury. Rashid Harun, Mashiur Rahman Rubel etc.

The program was conducted by former student leaders Noor Alam and Al Mamun Sabuj.

Quader Gani Chowdhury said that Awami League had built a mirror to torture dissenters. Where opposition party leaders were brutally tortured. Numerous opposition party leaders and activists were killed in the name of crossfire. Arresting dissenters from their homes and shooting them to death in the name of crossfire and so-called encounters was a daily occurrence. People’s freedom of speech was nothing. Acting Chairman of BNP, youth pride Tariq Rahman’s speech was not allowed to air in the media. He was not allowed to enter the country unfairly. National leader Begum Khaleda Zia was taken out of her cantonment house in a single cloth. Khaleda Zia, who was seriously ill, was not allowed to receive advanced treatment, but instead was kept in prison. This terrible monster fascist Hasina government has killed two thousand opposition party leaders-leaders-activists. Some lost their hands, some lost their legs, some had their skulls blown off. There was no democracy in the country for 17 years. Today we live in free air. But remember, it will remain free as long as we can keep the country free from fascism. If we start like Awami League, conspirators will succeed. Fascist power will come back again. So request to BNP leaders and workers, stay united. Stand by the people. Remember BNP is people’s party. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP for the country and the people. So I request you to stand by them as a servant of the people. Come forward to solve people’s problems. Make yourself dear to people. Be vigilant so that no one is wronged or tortured.

Addressing the present leaders and workers, the professional leader said, ‘Don’t let the victory that has been achieved in the country go to waste. Don’t lose the opportunity that is coming to enrich the country, beautify it, do good.

Eneta told the journalists that the people of the country have suffered a lot in the last 17 years. Sheikh Hasina’s government tortured us. You have been put in jail for the crime of BNP. I can see many of you here who were forced to emigrate and take political asylum here in the face of government oppression. That merciless, cruel condition has come to an end. Hasina, who became the most influential leader, had to flee the country through the student movement. That majestic Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India today and is in a pitiful situation. And those who oppressed you, took your land and business, they are going to jail. Remember that power cannot be perpetuated by torture-oppression, disappearance-murder. To stay in power, people have to stop. People are the source of power, not friends.
