Hezbollah’s Muhurmuhu rocket attack, millions of Israelis flee

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired a barrage of rockets into northern Israel in retaliation for the wireless communication device pager and walkie-talkie blasts. Hurmuhu rocket attack has spread panic in Israel. Millions of Israelis fled to shelters to escape the attacks. 

All schools and beaches in the northern part of Israel have been closed after this attack by Hezbollah.

Confirming this, Israel’s military said that around 5 am local time on Sunday, around 20 projectiles were detected simultaneously entering the northern part of Israel from the territory of Lebanon. Then around 6 am another 85 projectiles were fired from Lebanon.

Israeli army spokesman Lt. Colonel Nadav Shoshani told AFP that millions of people had taken refuge in shelters across northern Israel when the rockets came.

Earlier, a statement from the Israeli military said that rockets fired from Lebanon had set fire to several buildings and houses in the northern part of Israel. 

Israel’s emergency medical services agency said at least four people were injured by rocket debris. All three of them are residents of the northern Israeli city of Haifa.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Civil Defense Agency has ordered the closure of all schools in the northern region due to the Muhurmuhu rocket attack. In the midst of the Gaza war that has been going on for almost a year, the latest tension on the Lebanon-Israel border has spread panic throughout Israel.

The Israeli military’s Home Front Command said educational programs will not be allowed across northern Israel until 6 p.m. Monday. 

Lt. According to Colonel Shoshani, the conflict will affect millions of children. 

Patrice Wolff, an Israeli resident who works in the medical industry, told AFP that many educational institutions in Haifa have been closed… and offices are empty.

He said, more pressure is coming from Hezbollah. It is intensifying as Israeli forces apply pressure on the Lebanese group. In response to the rocket attacks, the Israeli army claimed to carry out airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

The growing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has created fears of an all-out war in the region. This week, Israeli officials signaled that the focus of their military operations would shift from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip to Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah.
