Inherent Trading and Impex Limited took a loan of Tk 600 crore from Islami Bank Chaktai Branch for different terms in 2021. In March next year, it was increased to Tk 1630 crore. Of this, Tk960 crore is funded, Tk300 crore is non-funded, Tk200 crore is project finance and Tk170 crore is incentive loan. The one-year loan was renewed in December 2022.

In the loan sanction letter, the maximum funded limit of the company’s loan was mentioned as Tk 960 crore, but as of now, the funded loan has exceeded Tk 1130 crore. That is, the direction of the head office does not mean the lending branch. Against this loan, the bank has been shown the collateral security of the company’s land worth Tk 592 crore in Dhaka-Chittagong (1,431 century). However, the value of these lands is estimated to be two to three times higher than the traditional mouza value. According to the joint stock, Sunmoon Traders was registered in November 2017, but the name was changed to Inherent Trading and Impex Limited in August 2020.

Ziaul Kabir Chowdhury is the chairman and Ansarul Alam Chowdhury is the managing director of the company. It specifies the types of business – trading, sales, import-export, garment, swing and industrial sectors. The paid-up capital is only Tk 8 lakh against 8,000 shares in the join stock. However, no such institution was found in Ramjoy Mahajan Lane of Asadganj. Even the street vendors and local residents did not hear the name of this company.

The managing director of the company, Ansar, has a loan of at least Tk 3,000 crore in his name, along with several other banks. Ansarul Alam Chowdhury, the owner of Inherant, lives in Raozan of Chittagong. The application form for opening a bank account of the company, which has taken a loan of thousands of crores of taka, has shown a monthly income of only two lakh taka. And the chairman Ziaul Kabir Chowdhury could not find any kind of business.

From the loan data of Islami Bank, it can be seen that not only the loan, the branch has also given a Corona time incentive of Tk 170 crore to Ansar’s company Inherent. Although there is a rule to give this incentive to the affected industrial entrepreneurs, this benefit has been given to all these institutions. Even on October 10 and 11, 2022, the amount of the incentive has been adjusted by taking the loan facility from the same branch.
