Sheikh Hasina has destroyed every institution in the country: Dr. Yunus

During the regime of Sheikh Hasina, every institution of the country has been destroyed, said the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus.

He said that the institutions have to innovate. The current government is committed to making important reforms in education, finance, labor sector, election commission, judiciary, civil administration and business environment. We want the cooperation of the Netherlands government in these reforms.

On Tuesday, Netherlands Ambassador to Bangladesh Irma van Duren had a courtesy meeting with the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Muhammad Yunus, and asked for this support.

The Dutch ambassador expressed his country’s full support to the interim government and said that the Netherlands will strengthen relations with Bangladesh in all fields, including agriculture, maritime, industry, youth, economy, labor, environment and flood management.

Professor Yunus thanked the Dutch ambassador and said, “I have a long personal relationship with everyone, including the leadership and businessmen of the Netherlands.

He said that every institution of the country has been destroyed under the dictatorial rule of Sheikh Hasina. We need to reinvent our institutions. The current government is committed to making important reforms in education, finance, labor sector, election commission, judiciary, civil administration and business environment.

At this time, the chief adviser on the Rohingya crisis said, emphasis must be placed on educating and training the Rohingyas who grew up in the camps. Their future should not be dark due to lack of education.
Dutch ambassador Irma van Duren said they will bring more Dutch investment in potential business clusters including agriculture and water.

The meeting was attended by Senior Secretary for SDG Affairs Lamia Morshed, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kazi Russel Pervez and Deputy Dutch Ambassador Thijs Woudstra.
