Donald Lu will visit Delhi and Dhaka from September 10 to 16

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu is coming to Dhaka. He will also visit India at the same time. He will also reaffirm the United States’ commitment to helping partners promote economic growth and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

This information has been informed in a notification of the US State Department. It is also said that Lu will visit India and Bangladesh from September 10 to 16.

Assistant Secretary Lu will travel to New Delhi, India, where she will highlight US-India cooperation to promote development, security, and women’s economic security at the India Ideas Summit hosted by the US-India Business Council. He is the Chief Deputy Assistant Secretary for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs of the United States, Jedidiah P. Royal will co-chair the 8th US-India Two Plus Two Intersessional Dialogue with officials from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Ministry of Defence. The dialogue will identify opportunities to enhance the US-India bilateral partnership, including defense cooperation, and expand US-India cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

Assistant Secretary Lu will join an interagency delegation to meet with the interim government in Bangladesh. The delegation will include representatives from the US Department of the Treasury, USAID and the Office of the US Trade Representative. U.S. and Bangladeshi officials will discuss how the U.S. can support Bangladesh’s economic growth, financial stability, and development needs.
