The claim that 2.6 lakh Indian nationals are working on contract basis in various institutions of Bangladesh has been a long-standing claim by various political organizations of the country. The complaint was that the Hasina government had given them opportunities in various institutions. This time, it is from Sheikh Hasina’s party that the demand has been raised to fire these Indians.

A post on the party’s verified Facebook page on Thursday said – ‘Honorable advisor 26 lakh Indian citizens who work in Bangladesh, list them, fire them, create opportunities for the unemployed youth of the country!’

In the comments box of that post, it is said, ‘This information was given by the advisor, so this work has to be done by him. We think this is the demand of the youth.’

After the fall of the Hasina government, the issue of jobs for Indians came into discussion recently. Where it is said – how can 2.6 lakh Indians work with high salary in a country where 2.6 lakh 40 thousand are educated unemployed? Their salary is in dollars! Every year about 5 billion i.e. 5 billion USD remittance goes to India from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is India’s fourth largest source of remittance income. Even though it has the name Bangladesh on paper, India has completely controlled the country so far.’

Netizens said that the educated generation of Bangladesh is unemployed in their own country and Indians are working in this country with high salary. How fragile a state structure can be!

It is to be noted that Hasina’s government fell through the mass uprising of students. Sheikh Hasina fled the country in just 45 minutes and took refuge in India. He is currently staying there.
