Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has instructed that no one can be arrested without identification.

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced this in a circular on Sunday (September 1).

According to the notification, during any operation, the law enforcement forces have to identify themselves and arrest the accused or the accused. The Home Affairs Advisor said that no one can be arrested under any circumstances without providing identification.

The ministry said that this directive should be followed in any case including joint operations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that a joint operation will be conducted to recover illegal weapons from next Wednesday (September 4). Faisal Hasan, the public relations officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, confirmed this information in a circular on Sunday.

On the news of Sheikh Hasina’s resignation on August 5, various police stations across the country were attacked, vandalized and set on fire. During these incidents, the attackers looted a large amount of arms and ammunition stored in the police station. After that, some weapons and ammunition were recovered from different parts of the country in the operation of the law and order forces. But that number is very insignificant. Many more weapons remain out. The Ministry of Home Affairs will conduct a joint operation to recover those weapons and illegal weapons already possessed by many.

Law and order forces have repeatedly stated that regular patrols and surveillance will be continued along with looted weapons and ammunition recovery operations to keep the law and order situation normal.
