The body of former general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League Ishaq Ali Khan Panna has been handed over to Bangladesh by the Meghalaya police. His body was sent back through Sylhet’s Tamabil Immigration Checkpost at around 11:30 pm on Saturday.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs requested the Indian government to send Ishaq’s body to Bangladesh following the request of the relatives. After following various procedures, Meghalaya Police handed over Ishaq’s body to Tamabil Police today. It is said that the family members of deceased Ishaq were present during the handing over of the body.

It is to be noted that Ishaq lost his life while fleeing to India through the Dona border at Kanighat on the night of August 24 after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. On August 26, Umkiang police recovered a half-decomposed body inside India.
