The death toll in the flood increased to 54, more than 5.4 million people were affected

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief said that the death toll has risen to 54 in 11 flood-affected districts. 2 people died in last 24 hours in Feni district.

Among them, 14 people died in Comilla, 6 people in Chittagong, 19 people in Feni, 8 people in Noakhali, 3 people in Cox’s Bazar and 1 person each in Brahmanbaria, Khagrachari, Moulvibazar and Laxmipur.

Besides, one person is still missing in Moulvibazar district.

10 lakh nine thousand 522 families in 64 upazilas of 11 districts including Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachhari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Laxmipur and Cox’s Bazar are in water-tight condition.

Besides, 54 lakh 64 thousand 167 people have been affected in 486 municipalities or unions of 11 districts.

4 lakh 69 thousand 687 people have taken shelter in 3 thousand 269 shelters. 38 thousand 192 domestic animals have also received shelter.

So far 4 crore 52 lakh taka has been allocated, 20 thousand 650 tons of rice, 15 thousand pieces of dry food or other food, and 35 lakh taka have been allocated for baby food and beef feed. Also, 567 medical teams are working to treat the flood victims.
