Incessant rains in India’s Gujarat have created a dire flood situation. At least 29 people have lost their lives in this situation so far.

NDTV reported this information in a report on Thursday (August 29).

The state government said that the floods caused by incessant rains have left many areas of the state under water, including roads and houses. 140 reservoirs and dams and 24 rivers flow above the danger line.

According to the State Emergency Operations Center, the rainfall this year has been 105 percent more than the annual average. As a result, a terrible flood situation has developed.

State and national disaster forces have so far evacuated 18,000 people to safer places. The Army, Air Force and Coast Guard have also been called in to help in the rescue operation.

The Indian Meteorological Department said that rains may continue in Gujarat for the next two days. It is feared that if it rains again, the flood situation may become more dire.
