Jamaat Amir said that journalism deserves special importance among the several important pillars of society to move our beloved society, nation and country forward. Two parts of the society one is journalism and other is politics. When those concerned with these two areas work together, the society becomes the desired society. And where this understanding is disturbed, it is not possible to lead the society to the desired goal. Those concerned with these two areas have to take important responsibilities during the transition of the nation

He also said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is an organization built in the heart of this country. Jamaat-e-Islami is working by keeping the noble ideals of Islam and prioritizing patriotism and keeping the needs of the country and nation in front. We are not above mistakes. Your criticisms and suggestions will make our way easier. We are one nation. We don’t want any division. Let us take an oath, we will always be united for the sake of the nation.’

Daily Naya Digant editor Alamgir Mohiuddin, BFUJ president Ruhul Amin Gazi, former president of Dhaka Journalist Union Abdul Hai Shikder, secretary general of Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union, among the representatives of print and electronic media, spoke about advice and actions to Jamaat-e-Islami in building the country and nation. Goni Chowdhury, former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists MA Aziz, executive joint editor of Dainik Manabzamin newspaper Shamimul Haque, General Secretary of Dhaka Journalists Union Khurshid Alam, editor-in-chief of Bangla Vision Dr. Abdul Hai Siddique, media personality Hasan Ahmad Kiran, veteran journalist Elahi Newaz.

Dainik Yugantar Editor Saiful Alam, Daily Kalbela Editor and Publisher Santosh Sharma, Amar Sangbad Editor Hashem Reza, Naya Shatabdi Editor Naeem Salehin, Daily Star Special Correspondent Rashedul Hasan and other journalist leaders were present.

Ameer Jamaat said that in a society where everyone is oppressed, it is natural that journalists will also be oppressed there. Because journalists are also part of society.

People of four religions mainly Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians live in diverse Bangladesh. We are very clear, we are Bangladesh together. Here it is extremely unfair to divide on the basis of religion or party. And a nation that is divided over such issues becomes a weak nation. Because of our mutual division, we have the opportunity to be flattered by others. By dividing ourselves, we create the opportunity for this conflict. We feel that division is absolutely unacceptable where national interest is concerned. We must be united in this place. We don’t want any more division.

He also said that unfortunately for the last 15 and a half years we have not been able to reach our spoken language to the people. We have not been able to involve people in our work. We tried to send our message to the media. But we assume that for whatever reason you could not express your heart’s desire. May the place of not being able to disappear forever, be wiped out, we pray. I as an individual and our team are not above mistakes. If no one points out our mistakes, we will continue to believe in them.

Let us bring all the hands of the society together. No oath, we are united in national interest. We will not compromise here. It doesn’t matter to us if it goes for or against someone. National interest above all else. May your pen be free and sharp. May your faces also be free and independent. May all our minds and mouths be open, and may we perform our duties without fear. Even a farmer can sleep at night without fear, go to the field with plough. A peon should not live in a culture of fear, should not become a slave to the boss. The rulers of the society should not become lords. They should not treat citizens as subservient slaves. Rather, they are forced to fulfill their responsibilities to the citizens and we pray that the feeling that they are accountable to the citizens will be awakened. Our national interest above all else, may Allah Ta’ala grant us tawfiq to understand this and work together.
